great for travel I bought this item for travel in India and Asia where I knew I would travel on trains. It was perfect for securing my suitcase/backpack in hotels as well. The cable is long enough to secure two suitcases and small backpacks on a train or hotel – although I did buy two (one each for my husband and myself) so I didn’t have to smash everything together. I don’t think it provides security for really savvy thieves, but for quick grab and go thieves it is perfect. I travel all over the world…
Good cable This is a good cable to help avoid casual theft. It’s lightweight and someone would have to use wire cutters to get through the cable or the lock. This is best described as an insurance policy to keep honest people honest, and to give a thief pause. Inside of airport security, I only really use it to secure our carryon bags with cameras, ipods, etc. and my wife’s purse. Those are small and concealable. We don’t feel the need to lock down the rollaboard. I regurlarly use it on everyhting…
