The Element Carrier is approved for use on most major airlines and intended for dogs and cats up to 16 pounds. It is 17 Inch long, 11.25 Inch high and 11.25 Inch wide. Board base inside absorbs urine, plastic would’ve been smart I absolutely love this dog carrier. I had the previous version in the tan color with red but needed to get a new one after several years of abuse. Lol.My 6.7 lbs Yorkie fits with a lot of room. He can even turn all the way around! I’m assuming it really could fit a 12 lb dog inside. I like the sturdiness of the canvas material. The zippers run smoothly and best of all it’s great for traveling.
