Love these, but they’re not a desiccant. They don’t claim to be. I love that the open/close (you just twist the ball) can be incremented and it stays put. Other similar products I’ve used are wide open, blow your nostrils out with fragrance. These I can open a tiny bit and get that ‘bag doesn’t smell like gym shoes’ effect.
