Especially great for long distance travel! (See overall review below) I bought two of the large carriers and wedged them face-to-face in the back seat of my Mitsubishi Lancer to transport my two large cats across the country. It was such a tight squeeze that I had to disconnect one of the metal bars inside the carrier to make it collapse slightly or I would have broken a window when closing the door.
